Just Cause Rescue Adoption Policy​

  1. Please scroll down to fill out the adoption application. 

  2. We will review your application. 

  3. We will check your vet information.

  4. We will set up a meet and greet with you and pet you are interested in.

  5. At the discretion of the current foster of the animal you are interested in, a home check may be required.

  6. If a home check is required, we will set up a time for someone to come look at your home.

  7. If all checks out, you will be able to take your new family member home to begin your 2 week trial period. 

  8. After the trial period, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee for your new family member.      Dogs: $125    Cats: $75

Do you understand that this is a trial period to determine whether the animal is a good fit for you?
Do you agree to remain in consistent contact with the Rescue throughout the duration of the trial period?
Can you personally provide proper nutrition, veterinarian visits, and a loving environment for the animal you are attempting to adopt?
If you rent your home, have you obtained prior approval from your landlord to adopt this animal?
Can you provide confirmation of approval from your landlord?
Do all members of your household agree to this adoption?
Are there children in your home? We ask this because not all animals can safely cohabitate with children
If there are children in your home, have they been taught how to properly handle animals of all ages and are they capable of always being respectful to this animal?
Will this animal be kept indoors or outdoors?
Do you have a fenced in yard?
If you ever have to move, do you agree to bring this animal with you?
Do you understand that adopting an animal is a lifetime commitment?
Are your current pets up to date on their vaccinations and preventive care? If you do not have any pets currently, were your previous pets kept up to date on these things?
Do you get your animals spayed/neutered?
Are you financially prepared for routine and emergency veterinary care?
Are you prepared to care for this animal for its lifetime (which may be 10–15+ years)?
Do you agree that at any point during this trial period, if the animal is no longer a good fit, you will contact Just Cause Rescue immediately?

By signing this application, you give Just Cause Rescue the authority to contact your previous veterinarians and to contact you with any further questions. You also agree to remain in continuous contact with the Rescue during this trial period. You also acknowledge and agree that Just Cause Rescue or any of its employees, board members, volunteers, or any one else affiliated with the Rescue, is not responsible for any bites, scratches, communicable diseases, unrecognized issues, behavior problems, or anything else that may occur with the animal during the trial period or adoption.

You also understand that the Rescue makes no guarantees as to the condition of the animal you are applying for.

You also agree that everything you have answered on this application or otherwise regarding this trial period and adoption, is true.

You agree to provide a loving FOREVER home for this animal and if you are unable to do so, you will immediately contact Just Cause Rescue.
